Jennifer Clouston is a textile artist, third time author and sought-after tutor. After being introduced to quilting in South Africa in 1988, Jennifer quickly discovered that handwork, rather than sitting at a sewing machine, was her true passion. Jennifer’s trademark is a modern and playful take on traditional embroidery. This has provided inspiration for both her classes and her published books, Foolproof Crazy Quilting and Foolproof Crazy Quilt Projects. Preferring a freehand approach to embroidery, Jennifer designs new and original stitches by taking traditional embroidery and giving it a modern twist. Jennifer’s goal is to encourage fellow quilters and stitchers to take risks and create from their own individuality and uniqueness. She also celebrates sharing buttons, beads, threads and life stories in creative circles - and we fully agree! Welcome to all this, and more, at Colour Streams Studio for a wonderful workshop.
WHAT IS INCLUDED? We have put together a selection of Colour Streams products to use for the techniques that Jennifer will be sharing with you. These techniques will furnish you with the knowledge and freedom to embrace textiles collage and embroidery in all its glory!
There are two options for attendence. The Full Weekend Retreat (with main meals) or the Daily Attendence Options (no main meals).

Friday 26th of May
Leave from Redland Bay Marina - Banana Street, Redland Bay (4.20pm or 4.45pm)
Please notify us by phone or email of your arrival time so that we can arrange to pick you up on Macleay Island.
Tap into Google Maps for directions OR The public transport to Redland Bay is excellent and very simple - please refer to the Translink Journey Planner.
For barge bookings to bring your car to the island, contact Sealink on 07-3488 5300 or https://www.sealinkseq.com.au/ Make sure you do this well in advance to get your preferred time slot.
If you are driving and wish to leave your car in Redland Bay for the two nights, please contact us to help you arrange it.
We would love it if you could arrive around 5pm to the island. This will give you time to pick out your materials ready for an exciting Saturday morning.
5pm
Pick up by Colour Streams for a short tour of the island (we are only 6 x 4kms after all and home to over 150 artists!). Then we'll take you to your pre-booked accommodation.
6pm
Pick up from your accommodation for drinks at the Colour Stream's studio whilst you select your stitching goodies for your weekend of stitching. Jennifer will be there to guide you in your selections! Then we'll enjoy dinner to celebrate the beginning of our weekend together after which we will return you to your accommodation.
Saturday 27th of May
8.10 - 8.30am
Pick up from your accommodation and settle in at Colour Streams Studio, 12 Presidents Terrace, which will be our base for the next two days. We will have a supply of fabrics, threads, ribbons, sequins and beads in case you feel the need for further supplies.
8.30am
Buffet breakfast with coffee, tea, and juice and delectable snacks all day.
8.45am
Over to Jennifer and enjoy!
12.30pm
Break for a buffet lunch and a stretch of the legs.
5pm
If you can tear yourselves away, needles down and 'home' for a little down time prior to dinner. We have lovely beaches for a paddle or swim depending on the tide. Enjoy a nature trail or just chill with a glass of wine while you contemplate your day.
6.30pm
Pickup for dinner at Colour Streams. We will drop you back at your accommodation when you have run out of revelling.
Sunday 28th of May
8.30 - 8.45am
Please be packed and ready at your accommodation for pickup.
8.45am
Buffet breakfast with coffee, tea, and juice and delectable snacks all day.
9.00am
Over to Jennifer again - make the most of your last day!
12.30pm
Break for a buffet lunch and again enjoy the serenity of the island.
4pm
Sadly, it is time to go. We hope that you have enjoyed your weekend and look forward to you joining us again for another fabulous retreat.

Transfer to ferry for return to Redland Bay.
